Welcome to Deaf Canada

We are a social networking site for anyone in the Deaf Community.  Everyone is welcome, and membership is FREE!

Hearing individuals are welcome too - ASL interpreters, students of ASL, parents of deaf children, CODAs (Children of Deaf Adults) and anyone who wants to become involved in the community.

We have a general discussion room where you can share information with everyone - your thoughts, links, videos, photos, etc.  There are also speciality groups set up, such as Deaf Literacy (general literacy & employment literacy groups available), an American Sign Language student group, and a Deaf Events group where anyone can share information on upcoming Deaf social events in the community.  More groups will be added soon!

You will find a lot of information and resources on this site.  Visiting the video resources section you will find a number of categories such as: citizenship, computers, cooking vocabulary, and ASL.  There's even more to access under the resources menu with on-line literacy activities, printable literacy activities, news & government information, and accessing government services.  We will continue to add more categories and resources as our site grows.

I invite you to look around our site (some areas require membership to view).  Be sure to visit often, as we will be updating our resources regularly.  If you are a member, please share your thoughts, links, videos in our discussion room and in group discussions (please remember to be respectful and not use inappropriate language or you will be removed from the group).

We hope that you will enjoy using the Deaf Canada website, and that you will invite your friends to join as well!
